Stephen Mitchell

Stephen Mitchell is the founder of Nexus Advisory, a boutique commercial finance advisory firm supporting Australian business owners and their advisers with growth capital, working capital, acquisition finance and complex funding needs.

With more than 10 years in lending and advisory, Stephen built Nexus Advisory around a boutique, partner-led model. Having also built and exited multiple businesses of his own, Stephen brings a practical understanding of the funding decisions founders face - as part of his role in Runway Partners.

He structures finance for growth, working capital, acquisitions and complex funding needs, drawing on relationships across banks, non-bank lenders and private credit providers - a network of more than 200 lenders serving businesses with revenue up to $100 million.

For Runway Partners' clients, Stephen helps align funding with the broader growth and exit strategy — providing capital to execute expansion plans, addressing funding constraints, and supporting acquisitions or ownership transitions. His focus is on commercially sound funding that supports value creation and gives owners greater flexibility as they prepare for a future transaction.
