In London, Paul was appointed a corporate partner at Howard Kennedy LLP in April 2002 — one of their youngest partners appointed, at only four and a half years qualified — and later moved to Atanaskovic Hartnell in Sydney, as Special Counsel before founding Deutsch Miller in 2009.
Paul's areas of specialisation include mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory, capital raisings, IPOs, venture capital and private equity, MBOs/MBIs, shareholder agreements and joint ventures, inbound investment, restructuring, employee incentive plans, corporate governance and commercial agreements. His clients include owner-managed businesses, listed companies, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.
Paul understands first-hand the challenges and opportunities involved in building and growing a successful business. That experience gives his advice a practical, commercially focused edge, supporting Runway Partners' clients through every stage of the business lifecycle — from growth and investment through to succession and exit planning.
Known for developing long-term relationships with clients, Paul is often a trusted adviser well before a transaction is contemplated. His collaborative approach helps clients navigate complex decisions, unlock growth opportunities, build enterprise value and position their businesses for future success.
Paul has fostered a deep and long-standing network within Sydney's private business community.
